No stache preet

Yea, I know, “this is madness!” but I assure you, this is Chim. Just know that it wasn’t supposed to be this way, I was just trimming it becuase you know, us Indians have to groom our mustaches like rich white people groom their prize dogs, but one side looked crooked to someone and then one thing led to another and the next thing I know is that I have a tiny Hitler stache. I thought about keeping it, but I was like nah, I have to go to school. Oh well, it’ll grow back in like a week. I grew that much back in a day. The only good thing that has come out of this is being able to make fun of Samuel. I had more facial hair than him even after I shaved.

Finally got something that runs in HD

A 360! I was going to get Gears of War, but they didn’t have it so I settled for COD3. It turns out that the 360 controller is a tad bit more sensitive than the normal Xbox controller, so I still suck at playing FPS games on it, and COD3’s checkpoint system doesn’t help either. I think I’ve played the same 15 minutes over and over again for at least an hour.

Anyways, the 360 turned out to be a pretty cool system. I have it synced with Media Center on my laptop so I can listen to music while I’m playing. The only problem I had with this was that I couldn’t let my laptop go wireless. I had to connect it to the router with a wire and that was sort of a let down. But one cool thing about the 360 was its marketplace. You can start downloads, go play some game, and the downloads will continue on in the background. Then, once its finished, you’ll get a little pop up that tells you its done. I know it doesn’t really sound all that cool, but its something that the PS3 lacks. On the PS3, once you start a download, you have to let it sit at the download screen. I’m sure Sony will fix it later on in a firmware update, but for now its another reason why the system I own is better.

The only thing that REALLY sucks about the 360 is that I suck at Halo on the 360. I bet Roby could beat me. I guess Xbox games need to stay on the Xbox.

Golden Swastika

January 09th, 2007 | Category: India, Life

Look what I picked up during my visit to India:

swastika

It turns out that the swastika is some important Hindu symbol. I didn’t see it all that often, but I guess its because there aren’t that many Hindus were I went. Now I just need to mount it tilted a little bit so my relatives stop staring at me whenever they see it. Till then, it’ll sit where it is now.

Nintendo Wii

December 03rd, 2006 | Category: Gaming, Life, Wii

“They come in randomly.”

That was the only answer we would get when we called stores like Target and Best Buy to ask when their next shipment of Wiis was coming in. We (Samuel, Roby and I) called Best Buy three times, and each time the guy would say “I don’t know.” I even tried talking in my Indian accent, but the dude hung up on me. Luckily, teh internets told me that Toys R’ Us and Circuit City would be getting a shipment on Sunday so we called them and they actually told us that they had Wiis! In the end, Roby and I decided to camp out in front of Circuit City because Toys R’ Us is a money making whore and only sells $500 “Wii Bundles” that came with crappy games.

To make a long story short: we camped out in Roby weather (freezing cold) for three hours, saw some white guy use his white guy power to make someone that had only been in the line for an hour give up her ticket to someone else who had probably only been in line for an hour, and most importantly, we got our Wii.
